Win a Fantastic Holiday for two worth up to £1,000

If a single picture can explain everything, how would you depict naturism? The Naturist Action Group (NAG) is pleased to announce its third photographic competition, organised in conjunction with H&E Naturist and Astbury Formentera.

As with our previous competitions, the theme is Living Naturism. How the photographer wants to interpret that is up to either him or her, but it must be in line with the commonly held understanding of naturism that is non-sexual, social nudity.

astbury_formentera-011As a concept, naturism (or nudism) has been going for well over a century and large numbers of people (thought to be about three-million in the UK alone) enjoy the benefits of a clothes free lifestyle. People enjoy walking the footpaths of our fair island, sunbathing on a beach or building a sandcastle with the children, all in the nude. People even enjoy doing the housework nude. It is a lifestyle that can be as full of joy, of sorrow and pathos as any other, yet it is still in the margins of society. We in H&E Naturist and NAG think that if naturists can show the joy of living naturism, sometimes its pain or its humour then non-naturists will see we live the same lives as them, just differently, without clothes, and hence the competition.

Since 2010, NAG has dedicated itself to advancing naturism in British society by speaking to the people and organisations that affect us most as naturists, be they politician or law enforcer. We believe that naturism will get further by ‘talking’ their language and to do that we need the resources to conduct the kind of research that support our arguments. Our most recent idea resulted in a presentation at a symposium organised by the British Psychological Society asking: ‘Are children really adversely affected by seeing adult nudity?’ This kind of academic research will have international implications and has already been supported by British Naturism (BN) and the International Naturist Federation (INF).

astbury_formentera-002The winner’s prize is holiday accommodation for one week, for two people, kindly donated by Astbury Formentera. Please don’t forget to visit their website and look at their fantastic offers. (Thanks for the pictures Ben.)
