Competition Theme

The theme of the competition is Living Naturism. The photographer may interpret this however they wish, but it must be compatible with the common understanding of naturism – non-sexual, social nudity.

Who can enter?

The competition is open to any photographer (amateur or professional) over the age of 18 years, living in the UK or overseas.

Anyone connected with Naturists Limited or Naturist Action Group, H&E Naturist and its publisher, Astbury Formentera, their directors, their management and/or paid staff, are excluded from this competition.

Deadline

The deadline for the competition is 22nd September 2017. Only entries received on or before that date will be accepted. The result will be announced not later than 31st March 2018.

Entry Fee

The entry fee for the competition shall be £10.00 for three images, with £3.50 per additional image. All payments must be paid in UK Pound Sterling and the correct entry fee is to be paid using PayPal via the Photo 2017 website.

The proceeds of the competition, after expenses, shall be shared between H&E Naturist and Naturist Action Group.

Submissions

Submissions can be made by via the Photo 2017 website, with the size of each image not less than 1MB along with your entry form and model release forms (if necessary).

Submissions will only be accepted if receipt of payment for the correct amount is confirmed.

Light image manipulation is allowed.

Apart for the need of identification of multiple image entries (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc.), no means of identifying the photographer will be allowed. Images that can be attributed to a photographer will be void.

All images entered into the competition should be the work of the person entering them.

Prizes and Judging

For 2017, the judges shall award the prize to one winner: a holiday (accommodation only) for two people, for one week in Formentera, part of the Balearic Islands.

Variation to the stated prize (e.g. accommodation for extra people and/or additional time) shall be subject to negotiation between the prizewinner and the prize sponsor.

The judges have the right to select images considered to have merit but not judged to be the winner as either highly commended or commended.

Images judged to be the winner, highly commended or commended will be published in an issue of H&E Naturist; the editor will determine the timing of publication.

There is no cash alternative.

For 2017, the judges shall be Paul Rouse (Managing Director, Naturist Travel), Sam Hawcroft (Managing Editor, H&E Naturist) and Reg Barlow (Chairperson, Naturist Action Group).

The judges’ decision shall be final.

Copyright

By submitting an image or multiple images to the competition, you confirm that:

  • A non-exclusive, irrevocable license is given to the Naturist Action Group, to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit in any media, the image. This may include but is not limited to:
    • News coverage of the competition;
    • Naturist Action Group’s website;
    • Exhibitions; and,
    • Publications (e.g. leaflets, reports).

You shall also grant H&E Naturist permission to publish the image (without a fee) in one edition of the magazine as part of the post competition publicity in accordance with above. Additional uses by H&E Naturist shall be paid for at the rate stipulated by the publication’s website.

Other than for above, copyright shall remain with the photographer. In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, Naturists Ltd will continue to hold entrants’ contact details and any subsequent third-party commercial opportunities that arise will be forwarded to them.

Legal

Any personal data submitted will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation. Please see Naturist Action Group’s Data Protection Policy for details of how personal data may be processed.

These rules of entry shall be governed by and interpreted according to English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction to deal with any disputes arising in connection with them.
